Today, the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, along with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and the Japan Science and Technology Agency, held a Global Symposium on scientific breakthroughs. The symposium, part of the 4th annual Global Research Council meeting, addressed policy issues such as approaches to
supporting the kind of basic research that leads to scientific
breakthroughs, and measures to advance global research networking.
